The Brazilian Circuit of Paintball held its third tournament of the 2009 season at Mega Play Morumbi Paintball. For the joy of the 25 registered teams, the layout of the field was based on the World Cup 2009, (except small adaptations), recently spread by the PSP. Besides the promise and dedication with the organization and structure what the CBP always offers, this event counted, besides the clinic with Oliver Lang already commented in our site, with the presence of Marc Lancia, general manager of sales and operations and Fernando “ PJ “, Gun-Tech, both from Planet Eclipse, which came to visit the event and also fix some guns of the players.
In the Amateur we had 17 registered teams, 9 of these teams are originating from the outside of Sao Paulo, which shows the pledge of the teams in moving around to come to play the CBP. The plays were divided in two phases and the teams in two keys. In Saturday, the teams that had a good performance was Rapinas Jr, Vipers, Ninjinhas Mega, Berzerkers, AC/DC and Berzerkers. SZ. The games were tough and the punctuation was quite tight.
In the fight for the first place, the Berzerkers defeated Rapinas Jr. in the first two matches, what gave them the title of champions of the tournament, once again. Likewise it did the Berzerkers. SZ against the Monkey, in the fight for the third place. Congratulations to guys of the northeast that have been showing a paintball of much quality.
In the category Open 8 registered teams played in the round robin format twice. It is worth to mention the presence of the team Fighters Jr, the guys from the beginning of paintball in Brazil returned from the ashes to play in the CBP.
In the Open, the rivalry is the fuel for the teams and in the format of quick points, each victory is important to get closer to the podium. This event was decisive for the teams that are fighting for the title of the circuit.
In Saturday the teams did 8 games and the one who was outstanding was the Jungle Boyz, Ninjinhas Delta, Rapinas and Ninjinhas Bravo. Since it was expected the placing after 6 next plays did not change very much. The teams that advanced for the finals were Jungle Boyz with 1.092 points versus Ninjinhas Delta with 1.080 points and Ninjinhas Bravo with 914 points versus Rapinas, with 810.
The Open final games was hot. After a victory of Rapinas, the Ninjinhas Bravo defeated them in the two next plays and got the third place. Fighting for the first place, again, Ninjinhas Delta and JBZ battled in two games, both going to Delta who secured the win of the event and the series championship title, closing 150 points in the first three events, since one of them is discarded.
Our sincere thanks to Oliver Lang from Ironman Team (Dye), Marc Lancia and Fernando PJ, from Planet Eclipse. We hope they’ve enjoyed the event and that we can, together, do much more for the sport. Our special gratitude to Xalo Almeida, Dye representative in South America, which does not save efforts to help the paintball growth in the country.
It is necessary to emphasize that this year there is a quite productive exchange with the great manufacturers of paintball equipments. They have been demonstrating enough interest for the Latin America market and it has been shown not only with the presence of the Eclipse guys in the CBP, but also, with the arrival of the player Oliver Lang one week ago, and the visit of Dave Youngblood, Dye’s president, in June for the CSP. The arrival of these enterprises that can see with their own eyes the job of those who believe, invest and promote paintball events is crucial so that there are improvements in a near future.
Special thanks to the referee team and to Mega Play staff, without their work won´t be possible to have a quality championship and to all that contributed to the realization of one more CBP event, which was a success!
See you in the 4th event!
