7.0 - Safety Warnings
Paintball Markers are not a toy! Paintball safety rules must be followed at all times. Please adhere to these guidelines. You must be 18 years or older to purchase a Paintball Marker. Adult supervision is recommended at all times whenever a minor is handling a Paintball Marker. It is essential that you adhere to the local laws/regulations governing the sale and operation of Paintball Markers. Check with the local authority for the specific rules that apply to your current region or a region to which you may wish to travel.
7.1 - Paintball Marker Operation
Careless or improper use including failure to follow instructions in the Operators Manual could cause serious injury or death. User and all persons within range of the marker must wear eye and head protection that is specifically designed for paintball use and meets ASTM/CE standards. Always treat the marker as if it were loaded and able to fire, and always fit a barrel blocking device to your marker when not in use on the field of play. Please read and understand all instruction manuals before use. Any installations, modifications or repairs should be carried out by a qualified individual at a licensed and insured paintball facility
7.2 - Marker Maintenance
Installation of any parts or maintenance of your Marker should be carried out by a professional Air-smith. De-gas your marker discharging any stored gas in a safe direction. Ensure there is no paint in the breech before commencing any work on your marker.
De-gas your marker, discharging any stored gas in a safe direction, and remove the barrel, loader, air system and any paintballs to make the marker easier and safer to work on.
8.0 - Marker Finishes
All Planet Eclipse markers feature anodised aluminium components and several different techniques may be used to finish this anodising process. This anodising process is not only cosmetic, it also protects the marker, so is a very important stage of the manufacturing process. Special anodising finishes, like the ones listed below, have their challenges. So please read the information below before making a purchase. We always advise seeing any product in person before making a final purchase to guarantee you are happy with the product. Product imagery cannot always fully convey or fully represent the physical product as cameras, monitors, phones etc all display colours and shades in very different ways.
8.1 - Splash, Fade, Acid Wash, Etc
As with ALL anodising of this nature, the randomness / uniqueness of Splash, Fade, Acid Wash etc is just that, random, unique and hand crafted. Because each marker finished with anodising of this nature is unique, Planet Eclipse strongly recommend that you physically see the marker before purchase. Any pictures provided online should be treated as a representation of that style of splash, fade acid wash. ALL markers with these types of finish are 100% sealed after the process, occasionally there will be very slight silver marks but these are simply part of the process, so rest assured the metal has been sealed. We hope you enjoy the marker with a finish that can never be exactly copied!! We always recommend that you physically see these markers with your own eyes before purchasing from your local store to avoid disappointment.
8.2 - Graphic Anodising
This type of full colour anodising is a complex process and certainly has its limits. Our team try very hard to make the designs work as well as they can on the surface area they are given to work on. Deep troughs or steep contour changes can create stretched out and faded areas in some cases. There is also a white/silver line on the top of the marker body that cannot be avoided. Depending on the design there can be some anodising colour overspray on this top strip. We always recommend that you physically see these markers with your own eyes before purchasing from your local store to avoid disappointment.
8.3 - Full Wrap Anodising
The process used for this type of anodising is called Hydro Dipping and uses a process of suspending a film of anodising dye in a liquid, then wrapping this around a non-uniform shape. Deep peaks and troughs can cause the pattern to become stretched and blurred. There can also be wrapping overlaps depending on how the film is wrapped. These are just part of the process and cannot be avoided. Each marker is different due to this process, so we recommend that you physically see the marker with your own eyes before purchasing from your local store to avoid disappointment.
8.4 - Colour Matching Aftermarket Parts
Anodising is not an exact science, there are many different variables in play that can make a huge difference in the depth and shade of the colour. We have upper and lower tolerance limits for what we consider to be acceptable for each production colour. This covers solid single colour anodising as well as the special finished discussed above. Parts that fall out of this spectrum are rejected. When we make a complete marker, all of the parts are anodised at the same time so colour matching is within these limits. If your particular marker was (for example) passed near the upper tolerance limit and you purchase a barrel back which happens to be from a batch that has passed closer to the lower colour limit you might not get a good match. We recommend that you should physically see the marker along with aftermarket part with your own eyes before purchasing from your local store to avoid disappointment.
8.5 - Re-Anodising not done by Planet Eclipse
Planet Eclipse has strict rules and procedures when it comes to anodising. Product that leaves Planet Eclipse have been through several levels of tests and inspections. If you purchase a marker that is NOT an original Planet Eclipse anodised and assembled marker then you do so at your own risk. For this to happen the marker must have been stripped and re-assembled thus not gone through any of Planet Eclipses tests and inspections. Stripping and re-anodising markers or any part voids your warranty.
